How Do I Know What Kind of Contractor I Am Getting?
An excellent question, one that we wish would get asked more often. Their are a couple of things that your new contractor should have, at the bare minimum. BBB Accredidation is a good place to start. You can always view the BB listing to see what other customers have had to say about their service. Now, alot of companies will have zero items listed. This is not a bad thing! People rarely take the time to praise a company, but rest assured they are quick to take action when something is not right.
Another thing to look for is licensing and insurance. Licensing means they are a buisness in good standing with your local municipalities, and insurance is just that. If your new contractor isnt insured, who is going to pay the bills when a bucket of paint accidentlly gets spilled all over your new car? Licensed and Insure is an absolute must.
Lastly, but no less important, is references. Any reputable company who stands behind their work will always have a couple of references for people who WANT to show off what they had done! Always ask for references!
